Where to stay in the Cotswolds

There’s a lot on offer, so when you’re trying to decide where to stay in the Cotswolds, we have some advice for you to help you choose…

Town setting?

If you’re staying in the Cotswolds, you’re unlikely to find yourself in a sprawling metropolis! But the towns do offer the convenience of local shops, characterful pubs and restaurants. And with Bicester, Oxford, Cheltenham and Gloucester all within easy travelling distance from wherever you stay, you can find designer brands and indie boutiques to satisfy even the biggest shopaholic.

Rural village location?

One of the greatest assets of the Cotswolds is the peace and tranquillity you find here. We’re famed for wonderful gardens, cottages with stone walls and babbling streams, and lush green hills that roll away into the distance. If you want to get away from the bustling city lifestyle, and immerse yourself in the calm of the Cotswolds, choose a rural location.

You’ll be delighted to discover the small village bakeries, teashops and independent restaurants, many of which have excellent reviews and even the occasional Michelin star… Do bear in mind, you’ll be a short taxi ride away from the nearest shops and eateries when staying at some of the Cotswolds hotels.
