5 Michelin Star restaurants in The Cotswolds

When it comes to the fine dining experience, The Cotswolds is a region that welcomes you to many Michelin Star restaurants.

The top chefs in the region have been competing for Michelin Stars as a globally recognised mark of distinction since it’s inception in the 1900’s and naturally, your discerning tastes appreciate the sought after stars as a recommendation for excellence.

We’ve put together our favourite restaurants, that match perfectly with our Luxury Cotswold Holidays, to help you choose the fine dining experience to put the cherry on top of your English holiday.

Restaurant Hywel Jones, by Lucknam Park Hotel & Spa, Colerne

“Restaurant Hywel Jones by Lucknam Park transports you to a bygone era of elegance and sophistication. The experience begins at the mile-long drive entrance, lined by beech trees, before you enter through our magnificent Drawing room or charming Library for evening cocktails. You are then escorted to the elegant restaurant to commence your evening of fine dining.” Restaurant Hywel Jones

Bybrook, The Manor House, Castle Combe

“Taking its name from the river that runs through the hotel grounds, the Michelin starred Bybrook restaurant enjoys the most beautiful of settings, all with a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere. Headed up by our Executive Chef, Robert Potter, our brigade of talented chefs create delicious seasonal dishes crafted from local ingredients, enhanced by wines of the world expertly matched by our Sommelier, creating an impressive dining experience to remember.” Bybrook

The Dining Room, Whatley Manor Hotel & Spa, Malmesbury

“The seasonally changing menu at The Dining Room combines locally sourced ingredients – including produce from the hotel’s kitchen garden, beef reared on farmland adjacent to the hotel and flour milled locally in the Cotswolds – with accomplished cooking, resulting in a menu of creative and enticing dishes that bring a modern twist to the traditional.” The Dining Room

The Royal Oak, Whatcote

“Our food offering is what we like to call ‘proper country food’, wild meats and foraged ingredients from our home area. The same ethos we’ve always had. Our aim is simple. We want to tell the story of our community, the producers themselves and how we’ve utilised their ingredients.” The Royal Oak

Lumiere, Cheltenham

“Jon trained under some of the finest Michelin starred chefs in the country and competed with great success in several international competitions with the British Culinary Team.

Jon’s menus demonstrate his own style of British cuisine, wherever possible using produce sourced from our family farm or from his network of trusted suppliers which he has curated over the past 20 years, to showcase his broad culinary training and skilful creativity.” Lumiere

And as a bonus, we present a sixth restaurant and one our personal favourites, The Atrium, at Lords of The Manor in Upper Slaughter.

Whilst not yet reaching Michelin Star status, The Atrium is very proud of their 3 AA Rosette accolade.

The Atrium at Lords of the Manor, Upper Slaughter

“The epitome of fine dining in the Cotswolds.

Boasting impeccable service and decadent dishes, guests are invited to experience an exclusive dining atmosphere; you wouldn’t expect anything less from our 3 AA Rosette awarded restaurant.

Holding his team to the highest culinary standards, Head Chef Charles has created a distinguished dining space that is assured in its approach and confident in its ingredients; he scours the UK for the best produce to include in his innovative seasonal tasting menu.” The Atrium

We hope we have whetted your appetite for fine dining in The Cotswolds!
