In short, yes you can, and we have plenty to choose from! Rosehill loves nothing more than to bring a group of visitors to our wonderful historical breweries and show them the traditions of brewing, Cotswold style!
We’ve chosen some of the tours that our American, Australian and Canadian guests have enjoyed in the past…
Donnington Brewery, Cheltenham
Dubbed, ‘the fairest brewery in all the land’, Donnington truly showed it’s community spirit during the past when they have put an honesty box outside – take a beer, leave some money and enjoy it by the river…
You can even stay on site in one of two luxury holiday homes, both of which have views of the lake and river.
This really is one of the most beautiful traditional breweries in the Cotswolds, and there’s a brilliant video about Donnington Brewery on YouTube.
Hook Norton, Banbury
As with Donnington Brewery, Hook Norton is a long-established family business, and has been since the early-1800s.
Known for being the finest example of a ‘Victorian Tower Brewery’ in England, Hook Norton also boasts a fine ‘Malthouse Kitchen Café’, museum and their own Shire horses, which you may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of.
Enjoy a first look at the Hook Norton Brewery tour on YouTube.
Hawkstone Brewery, Bourton-on-the-Water
If you follow our social media you’re probably already familiar with Bourton-on-the-Water, think Venice of the Cotswolds!
And in amongst the waterways you’ll find Hawkstone Brewery, named for the ancient Neolithic standing stone up the road n Chipping Norton.
You might already be familiar with Hawkstone as well, since it’s most famous supplying farmer is Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson as showcased in the popular documentary, Clarkson’s Farm.
The tours here will teach you about the history of the brewery, the methods of brewing and include plenty of opportunities to sample the beer and cider – but don’t worry, you won’t necessarily bump into Jeremy!
Check out the Hawkstone Brewery.
Purity Brewing Company, Alcester
“Sustainability and brewing with a conscience is at the heart of our business”
A little less traditional and boasting award winning IPAs and stouts, this tour delivers a relaxed and friendly look at the history and brewing methods of this sustainable company.
Dunkertons
Not the first time this brewery has appeared in our blog, but that’s because it’s so good! Founded in 1980, Dunkertons is relatively new to the scene by comparison and makes deep flavoured organic ciders and perry.
They also have a rather fine burger restaurant…
Tours can include cheese pairings or creating your own blends to take away.
If you’d like help choosing which tour to take, or if you’d like to add one to your Rosehill Luxury Tours itinerary, please get in touch, we’d love to show you around.
