Lake Windermere, Lake District

You won’t regret embarking on one of our luxury Lake District trips

Here at Rosehill Travel, we may be most commonly associated with our tours to the Cotswolds and surrounding areas like Stratford-upon-Avon, Bath and Oxford, but we also bring our exceptional attention to detail in designing the finest tailor-made holidays to a very geographically different, although no less delightful part of the UK: the Lake District.

Invest in one of our luxury Lake District trips, and you can take all of those gorgeous lakes, forests and fells (mountains, to me and you) out of your imagination or the tourist postcards and into your lived experience. It’s the perfect opportunity to explore attractions both obvious and lesser-known in this visually stunning and enchanting part of the world.

As you would expect, a visit to this area of Cumbria is certainly one for outdoorsy types, with plenty of winding lanes and mountains to explore – including the highest in England of all, Scafell Pike. Meanwhile, for those who’d like to get close to the water, perhaps enjoying a lake cruise, there are no longer lakes anywhere in England than the world-famous Windermere.

Some of the great things about our luxury Lake District trips won’t surprise you – the area’s strong cultural associations, for example, with the area having inspired artists, writers and poets like Daniel Defoe, William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter. The latter two even have homes in the area that you can now visit, in Rydal near Grasmere and Sawrey near Hawkshead respectively.
Some other aspects of the Lake District, however, are likely to surprise you. Who would have imagined that the area had a string of Michelin-starred restaurants, for example, including Sharrow Bay Country House in Ullswater and L’Enclume in Cartmel? Cumbria also boasts no shortage of microbreweries supplying various ales to the region’s pubs and restaurants, which contribute to an intriguing gastronomy scene.

Choose Rosehill Travel for luxury Lake District trips, and you can benefit from fine quality accommodation, transfers and round trip train transportation from London. So, why not enquire to finally see what you’re missing out on in the Lake District?
