The Cotswolds really is the perfect place to make the most of a truly British Christmas and many hotels are already taking enquiries and bookings for the festive period. Let’s have a look at four of our favourites, and see where you could be spending Christmas this year…
Dormy House Hotel
Bookings are now open for Christmas at Dormy House, where you know you’ll be treated to the most wonderful time of the year, in style.
The three-night festive break begins on Christmas Eve with a glass of bubbles or mulled wine on arrival, and a delightful afternoon tea.
Dinner is a sumptuous affair with a seasonal menu accompanied by something from the notable wine list.
On Christmas Day you can have a Buck’s Fizz or Bloody Mary breakfast, a lavish four-course Christmas feast and Champagne, and an indulgent grazing table late into the evening.
To ‘wrap up’ your festive stay, Boxing Day at Dormy House begins with brunch, followed by a massage or falconry experience, cream tea in the afternoon and an evening Champagne reception with a decadent five-course dinner with live entertainment.

Ellenborough Park
Ellenborough Park is offering Christmas stays, Twixtmas breaks and New Year stays as “your home away from home this Christmas.”
Arriving on Christmas Eve, you can choose between a two or three-night package.

On the big day, you’ll begin with a full English Breakfast with a mimosa or Bloody Mary, followed by a leisurely morning spent opening gifts whilst the lunch is lovingly prepared.
Then, gather for canapes and Champagne before indulging in a traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings. The rest of the afternoon can be spent walking it off with a meander across Cleeve Hill or settling in for a dip in the indoor pool, or at the board games table.
A buffet supper rounds off Christmas Day.
Boxing Day is all about brunch and exploring the local area. If you’re staying for a third night, there’s an exclusive wine and cheese tasting, followed by an evening dinner.
The Lygon Arms
A three-night Christmas stay with The Lygon Arms Hotel in Broadway is truly magical and always promises a warm festive welcome.
Traditional carol singers fill the lounges and restaurants with seasonal cheer before a three-course Wellington Feast in The Grill, or Russell Room on Christmas Eve, setting the tone for the rest of your stay.
Christmas Day begins with a leisurely breakfast followed by a canapes and Champagne reception. Then Christmas lunch is a traditional, seasonal four-course affair before you go off to relax and enjoy light bites throughout the rest of the evening.
Another delicious breakfast on Boxing Day awaits, with a light buffet lunch to follow, and a leisurely evening meal from the a la carte selection, in the venue of your choice.
The festive celebrations are brought to a close on the 27th by a relaxing morning, topped off with complimentary time to explore the local area or enjoy the spa before departing.
Lucknam Park
Traditional celebrations await you at Lucknam Park this Christmas.
Experience Michelin-Starred hospitality over two or three nights and you’ll have an unforgettable time.
Christmas Eve kicks off with cream tea in the lounges, with children’s activities (including Scalextric), until 4pm. Then the evening begins with a Champagne reception and the Christmas choir singing in the lounges, before retiring to Restaurant Hywel Jones for a three-course evening meal.
Back to Restaurant Hywel Jones for Christmas morning, and breakfast is served moments before an appearance from a ‘special guest’ who will arrive in a horse drawn carriage brimming with gifts for the youngsters. You even have the opportunity to hitch a ride in the carriage from which to view the estate grounds.
A three-course Christmas lunch is served, accompanied by a musician and then the King’s Christmas message is televised for all to see.
A cold buffet in the evening brings Christmas Day to a close.
On Boxing Day, you are treated to breakfast in the Walled Garden Restaurant before checkout. If you are staying for a third night however, you have leisure time, including clay pigeon shooting and more children’s activities, all on the estate.
Your last night is concluded with a three-course dinner in the Walled Garden Restaurant (which can be upgraded to black tie in Restaurant Hywel Jones) and a casino in the main house.
