We are absolutely delighted to have forged a new partnership with the wonderful Rob Gould, Cotswold Forager to bring a unique experience to our private tour guests and holidaymakers.
Rob has over 20 years’ of foraging experience and with that comes a wealth of knowledge and a deep passion for the outdoors.
“For me, foraging is a way of getting people to think about and develop a love for the wild food all around them in the outdoors, as well as helping to grow a greater appreciation and understanding of the natural world as a whole. I hope you will see and grow to understand different habitats, understand why certain plants grow there in preference to elsewhere, and start to see links and patterns in plants that are edible or usable in various other ways. Sometimes a walk may end up with you taking nothing physical home, but I would hope that you will return there with a greater knowledge and to be far better prepared for your next outing in the outdoors.” Rob Gould, Cotswold Forager
Robs passion for wildlife and the natural world goes far beyond that which is edible. He covers storing and preserving your wild bounty, how to weave your foraged goods into your favourite recipes at home and designing wild menus for professional chefs. And you can always tempt Rob to tell you the folklore surrounding his beloved wild settings.
Private Cotswold Foraging Tours are for anyone who has an appreciation for the natural world and wishes to delve deeper into the beauty of the region.
Small group Foraging Tours in the Cotswolds
Your tour caters is adaptable according to your group, but we suggest up to six.
Rob loves the private tours as he says, “the only questions are yours so we can really chat about what interests you and your group personally.”
As for the locations, these are determined by your preference and location at the time of your stay with Rosehill Travel. We can advise you of the most bountiful and most beautiful spots, especially if you wish to end your tour with a Michelin Star restaurant or a cosy Cotswold pub!
However, we would highly recommend meeting one of Rob’s few very select chefs who are able to offer a spectacular meal after your foraging tour, incorporating many of your very own forageables. Now that’s what we call a unique experience!
